Stefano Rossini will be the coach of Piacenza Calcio again next season. At least this is the company’s intention, announced by the president Marco Polenghi during a television broadcast on the evening of Monday 6 May. No hesitation among the members for the reconfirmation of the coach and his technical staff, despite the disappointment of the lack of promotion to Serie C. “The objective was not achieved – said Polenghi -, today (6 May, ed.) we members have gathered, all in agreement that the disappointment must remain at the final whistle on Sunday: now is the time to think constructively, with the desire to start again”. First of all, Polenghi stated that Piacenza will face the playoffs trying to “honor the championship finale”.
The members have no doubts about the technical staff. “We lost the points in the first eleven games (before the dismissal of Massimo Maccarone, ed.) – said Polenghi -, then Rossini arrived and demonstrated that he was up to the task: he took over Piacenza Calcio in a very difficult situation, both from an athletic and psychological point of view, and led them to fight until the last day to win the championship. This week we will speak with Mister Rossini with the intention of reconfirming him for next season.” And the same goes for the entire staff. “The second phase of the championship is the result of the alchemy that was created among the entire technical staff”.
