The fact occurred when the security staff noticed the man trying to hide goods inside his backpack. When the security guards tried to approach him for a check, the man reacted by trying to escape and hitting one of the security guards who was trying to stop him.

The agents of the State Police, promptly having intervened, they proceeded with the personal search of the suspect, confirming the initial suspicions. Various food products were found inside the 34-year-old’s backpack that he had removed from the store shelves without having paid for them.

After the arrest, the man he was taken to the police station for the ritual procedures. At the order of the Public Prosecutor, he was held in the security cells awaiting the immediate hearing. During the hearing, the Judge for Preliminary Investigations validated the arrest and, evaluating the case, decided to apply a severe precautionary measure, imposing a ban on the 34-year-old from mansion in the Municipality of Perugia.

This episode highlight the effectiveness of the Single European Emergency Number and the speed with which the police are able to intervene in critical situations, ensuring safety for citizens and preventing further criminal acts. The promptness and professionalism of the State Police allowed the incident to be managed, limiting the consequences and ensuring the immediate application of justice.
