Great success for the first edition of “La Famiglia al Parco”, the event sponsored by the Municipality of Trapani and aimed at all citizens of the area. Many have decided to participate in the “bicycle” which started from Piazza Umberto I (better known as Piazza Stazione), and to meet at the grove in Via Salemi to spend a morning in the open air between games, prevention activities and picnics.
The event, we remember, was possible thanks to the renovation work in the area previously arranged by the Administration. Thanks to the availability of associations and various local entities (coordinated by the Red Cross), many activities were carried out during the morning: inclusive workshops, prevention activities, sensory paths, archery, moments of painting, dog shows and moments dedicated to nature.
«Places must be inhabited and safeguarded – said the mayor Giacomo Tranchida and the councilor Giuseppe Virzì – and it is essential that everyone does their part. Many families live in the area adjacent to the grove who, over time, have urged us to have this space redeveloped and we have done so. But that’s not enough for us, we want to improve this area even more, aiming to create a real park, also thanks to the collaboration with inhabitants and associations. We therefore hope that it can become a point of reference for many outdoor activities. Thanks go to all the associations and entities involved in yesterday’s event but also to those who will take care of this place which belongs to everyone and which for this reason must be safeguarded and respected by everyone.”
