Italia Nostra Catanzaro supported the guided tour of the city which was offered to the young guests of the 2024 Convittiadi and their companions.
We underline the great result obtained again by the Convitto Nazionale Galluppi of Catanzaro which, for the second year, was awarded the powerful organization of the Convittiadi. There were around 2200 guests who, including children and chaperones, came from national boarding schools throughout Italy.
On Friday 3 May we accompanied the kids on a guided tour of the city of Catanzaro:
- they were able to admire the nature of the Mediterranean Biodiversity Park, and discover the contemporary works of art that make up the OPEN MARCA;
- they visited the CRAS (Wild Animal Recovery Center) with Dr. Debora Giordano;
- they spent time in the rooms of the MUSMI – Military Historical Museum;
- from the Castle Terrace they were able to observe glimpses of the city, looking as far as the Sila mountains, Monte Tiriolo, the Morandi Bridge, and even as far as the Ionian Sea in the Gulf of Squillace;
- then it was the turn of the mysterious and always fascinating Galleries of the Castle of the San Giovanni Monumental Complex.
We are proud to have offered our contribution to the visit of the City, and we express our applause to the Director of the Convitto Nazionale Galluppi of Catanzaro, Dr. Cinzia Scozzafava, to the Vice Principal Dr. Davide Lamanna and to all the School Staff for the result obtained and for the contribution they have given to the valorisation of the territory.
