Below we publish the note with which the former councilor Alessandra Ruvo informs citizens of her choice:
“Dear friends and fellow citizens,
Today I handed in my resignation as Councilor of the Municipality of Pisticci. The reasons for this choice can be traced back to the important news that has recently occurred in my life: having won a public competition, I have just started a new job that sees me working outside of Pisticci. After trying to reconcile the two things, I came to the conclusion that I could not carry out the two commitments with the dedication and sense of responsibility that they both deserve. In particular, I believe that a public office, especially in a complicated municipality like Pisticci, requires an almost all-encompassing commitment that I would not be able to guarantee at this moment. And it is for this reason that I prefer to take a step back.
They have been two and a half challenging years, but also full of satisfaction and experiences that have enriched me professionally and personally. For this I first of all want to thank the citizens who wanted to place their trust in me by honoring me with their vote in the last local elections, but, in general, all the citizens who took part in that vote (whatever choice they made at the polls).
Thanks then go to the Mayor Domenico Albano, who appointed me as Councilor, and to the colleagues of the Council, with whom I shared the path: working for such a long time in such close contact has given rise to and/or cemented human relationships which, I hope they will continue even after the end of my assignment.
Thanks therefore go to the Councilors of the Insieme Group, to the other majority Councilors and, in general, to all the members of the City Council, with whom I have always tried to collaborate with maximum availability and loyalty.
A thought also goes to all the members and supporters of the Together List: it is also thanks to them that I was able to have this important experience.
A last, but no less important, thank you I want to address to all the staff of the Municipality of Pisticci: without their precious work no administration could go far.
I would like to specify that this step back of mine does not have the meaning of a total retreat to private life. Although I will certainly appreciate the greater time that I will be able to dedicate to my private life and, in particular, to my family, I will remain an integral part of the community governance project of which the Albano Administration is an expression, albeit in a more secluded position. In fact, it is not essential to hold an institutional role to participate in the life of the community and continue to do politics.
I am in fact convinced that the future of a community depends not only on the administrators but, to a large extent, also on those administered and it is for this reason that I will not fail to make my contribution as a citizen to make Pisticci a better place, for us and our children ”.
On the resignation, these are the words of the City Council: “The Council extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ruvo for the work carried out with dedication, attention and competence, always at the service of the community, as well as a sincere and warm wish for this new professional phase ” she then added that “The mayor, Domenico Albano, has taken on the interim position for Productive Activities, Digitalisation and technological innovation, Education, Inclusion”.
