A dream 88 keys long
The theme of the festival is all in the title “A dream eighty-eight keys long”a tribute to the piano in the history of jazz, and beyond, on the centenary of the birth of Bud Powell (1924 – 1966), father of modern jazz piano and on the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Duke Ellington (1899-1974), conductor, composer and pianist, the “duke” who inspired entire generations of jazz musicians; this choice strongly characterizes and identifies the most relevant among the multiple listening paths of the event with the piano at the center of numerous events, including some original productions and many national premieres.
They will sit in front of the keyboard artists like Uri Caine, Omar Sosa, Craig Taborn, Marialy Pacheco, Antonio Faraò, Dado Moroni, Danny Grissett, Margherita Fava, Francesca Tandoi and then again Simone Graziano, Paolo Birro, Sade Mangiaracina, Giovanni Guidi…
Concentrated programming from 13 to 19 May but with a prologue the 5 and 7 May it’s a renewed format with days even fuller of live music, non-stop concerts from afternoon to late at night.
Alongside the main programming, a large number of widespread programming will be animated, which will be welcomed in the clubs and bars in the citystarting from May 5threiterating this as one of the characteristics that make Vicenza Jazz truly unique unique.
