A long morning of celebration, that of Saturday 4 May on the green rectangles of the “Nuovo Polo San Gabriele”. Where it took place the first football tournament reserved for high school students in Vasto and set up by the CSAIn. (Corporate and Industrial Sports Centers)
There are two tournaments scheduled, which have saw the participation of around sixty kids divided into five teams representing three city institutes: the “IS Pantini – Pudente”, the “Polo Liceale Mattioli” and the “IS Palizzi”.
Among the “Students”, children enrolled in the first three classes, the color bearers of the “Mattioli” high school campus won. The boys led on the bench by Professor Enzo Menna, defeated the Pantini – Pudente team in the only scheduled match winning the title. These are the young players who took turns on the pitch: Alessandro Benedetto, Mattia Del Bianco, Lorenzo Di Gregorio, Roberto Felice, Riccardo Galante, Marco Gallo, Francesco Lupi, Roberto Marrone, Mattia Marzella, Mattia Rosania, Federico Sacramone, Alessandro Scalzo and Tommaso Tambelli.
In the “Juniores” group, double defeat for “Pantini-Pudente” with the final played between “Palizzi” and “Mattioli”. The boys of the latter institute won the trophy with a clear poker. Professor Davide Ruffini used: Christian Angelicola, Cesario Besca, Francesco Bottari, Francesco Capuzzi, Matteo D’Adamio, Simone Del Re, Matteo Forte, Benedetto Magagnano, Michele Mazzeo, Daniele Priori, Francesco Ricciardi, Alessandro Riganelli, Angelo Roberti, Valentino Tiberio.
During the awards ceremony, in addition to the awarding of cups to all participating teamsawards were given to the referees and teachers who accompanied the boys. A special prize went to Mattia Marzella (Mattioli), Arnildo Topola (Pantini –Pudente) and Mattia Di Giacomo (Palizzi). Having welcomed the first edition, the professors and organizers of the tournament agreed to meet next year with the aim of enriching the event with many other institutes in the area.
