‘Ranieri Filo della Torre’ award to Sabrina Pupillo

Sabrina Pupillo, food technologist and popularizer in the olive sector originally from Vico del Gargano, received special recognition at the 7th edition of the ‘Ranieri Filo della Torre Award’.

The event, created to exalt the world of Evo oil on a literary and scientific level, is promoted by Pandolea, an association of oil women, promoters of Pandolea International (which brings together the women of Mediterranean oil), in collaboration with Confagricoltura, La Ruota Edizioni curator of the anthology, the National Academy of Olive and Oil, giULIVI readers.

During the awards ceremony, which took place on Friday 24 May in Rome at the Confagricoltura headquarters in Palazzo della Valle, Vania Sarullo and Lucia Librandi from Pandolea presented her with the recognition – the certificate, the work ‘Forza tranquil’ (oil on canvas) by Laura Covino and a bottle of extra virgin olive oil.

“I am happy and excited to receive this award which aims to valorise the oil. At the basis of all the activities I carry out there is always the desire to make the product known, because only by knowing it is it possible to valorise it. And this is why that in my work I always try to address both the consumer and the producer, with a view to continuously improving quality”.

Special recognition also went to Nerina Di Nunzio, food and wine and personal growth expert, Luciana Squadrilli, food and wine journalist and Marzia Roncacci, TG2 journalist and Tg2 Italy-Europe presenter.

Nerina Di Nunzio and Luciana Squadrilli will be present in Vieste on the occasion of the 8th edition of ‘La Settimana dell’Olio’, involved by Sabrina Pupillo, organizational director of the event which for seven years has aimed to promote culture of extra virgin olive oil both through information activities aimed at the general public and through comparison and training activities aimed at operators in the sector.

The Award dedicated to Ranieri Filo della Torre is an event that aims to celebrate a significant figure in the world of Italian olive growing and agriculture, but also – and above all – an opportunity to enhance the olive tree and oil through stories, poems , thesis.

In fact, the jury awarded three literary prizes for the poetry, fiction and haiku sections, and three prizes dedicated to the scientific section to the best degree theses on oil and the olive tree, selected by a committee of academics.
