And it is with this courage, after yet another humiliation and another explicit death threat, that a young girl from Tito crossed the threshold of the Provincial Carabinieri Command in Potenza to ask for help.
Immediately welcomed by the soldiers of the local station, the girl, having overcome the initial embarrassment, reconstructed, in the following hours, the years spent with her ex-boyfriend.
Years of obsessions, threats, assaults and exclusive possession of that girl who had transformed from a partner into something of his property.
Years of shame for the poor victim who hid his inner discomfort out of modesty.
In the end, death messages and a photo of a gun sent via WhatsApp.
Having gathered all the elements and the very serious evidence against the boy, the Carabinieri have activated the emergency procedures provided for by the Code Red protocol.
At the young man’s house, a 20-year-old from the same town as the victim, the Carabinieri of the Station and of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of Potenza found a toy gun.
Arrested for persecutory acts, the young man was first confined to the Potenza prison and, following the validation hearing by the GIP of the local Court, subjected to a ban on approaching to the offended person with the affixing of the electronic bracelet.
As regards him, it should be remembered that the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction is reached.
