“Contemporary pedagogical challenges: emotional education and cooperative teaching” is the title of the next meeting organized by the association “Me X Benevento” which will see the absolute protagonist on Thursday 9 May, at 5.30 pm, at the Pedagogical Laboratory “Don Lorenzo Milani” the famous educational psychologist and writer Stefano Rossi. The scholar among the leading experts on childhood and adolescence in our country will hold a conference lectio magistralis on the cooperative teaching method (Rossi Method), developed after 20 years of research and field testing. The peculiarity of the method, which distinguishes it from other cooperative models, is its simplicity: thanks to numerous cooperative formats, stimulating, inclusive and engaging cooperative lessons can be created in just a few minutes. To date, more than 50 thousand teachers and over 500 schools have been trained on the “Rossi Method”. The philosophy of the Rossi Method is to propose cooperation, not as a simple “doing together”, but as a deeper “taking care of each other with empathy”. An approach inspired more than by contemporary efficiency, by the lesson of Don Milani. Thursday’s conference, organized by the “Io X Benevento” association, in collaboration with “Cesvo Lab”, “A meaning to life” and the parish of “San Modesto”will see the participation of Giuseppe Schipani, president of the “Io X Benevento” association, Don Leonardo Leporeparish priest of the church of “San Modesto”, Maria Cristina Vinegardirector of CSV Irpinia Sannio, Marcello Palladino, municipal councilor and education delegate for the Municipality of Benevento, Giovanni Galano, Childhood Guarantor of the Campania Region, and Clemente Mastella, mayor of Benevento.

The “Io x Benevento” association has been carrying out its social promotion activity since 2008, dealing with problems of public interest concerning the city of Benevento and aiming to promote cultural values, solidarity and social aggregation. Starting from the Libertà district and surrounding areas, the association led by Schipani intends to create a network of educational intelligence capable of facing the evolutionary challenges of this generation. An Educating Community capable of combating inequalities, the various forms of deviance, degeneration and of building opportunities in the territory that allow all children to feel part of a path of collective growth, linked to their neighborhood and their city.

Stefano Rossi, a school psychologist and one of the most loved lecturers, is one of the leading experts in cooperative teaching and emotional education of children and young people at risk. After having worked as a street educator in the suburbs and having coordinated psychoeducational centers for families and minors, today he deals with research, training and psychopedagogical consultancy for teachers, children and parents. Over the last twenty years he has trained more than 800 schools on the tools of emotional education and has created projects to combat school dropout which have merged into the Rossi Method of Cooperative Teaching, of which he directs the Centre. He has written and edited around thirty school textbooks. With Feltrinelli he published the bestsellers My son is a mess (2022), Love lessons for a son (2023) and, for girls and boys, If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? (2024).
