Late yesterday afternoon, in Arezzo, a woman was the victim of a mugging in the Saione area. The elderly woman, intent on doing some shopping in the neighbourhood, before returning home, was approached by three young men, one of whom snatched the bag containing her personal effects from her hands, and then disappeared into the streets. neighboring. The woman, obviously, started screaming, attracting the attention of people on the street. Fortunately, among these was a carabiniere, off duty, who noticed the whole scene and intervened immediately, chasing the three fugitives, at the same time notifying the Carabinieri Operations Center of Arezzo, which sent gazelles to assist.
The Carabinieri who promptly arrived in support, together with the soldier who initially intervened, tracked down the perpetrators of the theft not far away, inside a disused warehouse where they had entered in order to cover their tracks.
The bag with all the personal effects was returned to the lady, who evidently shocked by the event, heartily thanked the active soldiers.
The three young people were then taken to the Company’s offices, where they were identified. The two adults were arrested in flagrante delicto of “theft with snatching in competition” and the minor was referred in a state of freedom to the Judicial Authority for Juveniles of Florence for the same mugging.
This morning the ritual was celebrated directly at the Court of Arezzo.
