Rome, 4 May 2024 – “Sulla snow the more you know and the less you know,” he wrote Denis Trento on his Instagram profile. There passion for the mountains never leaves you, and, after saying goodbye to the competitions, not even theexpert ski mountaineer found died on Mount Paramont in La Salle, in the Aosta Valley.
The athlete of the Army Sports Center Courmayeur, 42 years old, was a true pillar of Italian sport. It literally has dominated the ski mountaineering raceswinning the relay World Championships in 2008 and 2011, and the team ones in 2011, to which are added two victories in the European Relay Championships ski mountaineering, in 2007 (Relay) and in 2009 in Teams.
And you just need to take a look at his social media to understand how much he had made of the peaks and snow there his house. The outings, carefully filmed with the camera, the photos, and the detailed descriptions of the routes, with even some sarcastic hints – from time to time – on the snow conditions.
Trento also tried atpass on his passion to his children. This is what he wrote last April 21st: “First real summit (or hill), for grown-up children. Attempts to give some poor teaching on the trade have foundered miserably among cats and various livestock, or sandwiches. So nothing different compared to everyday life…”
