Athena Sassari, night before the playoff exam. Coradduzza: “Let’s enjoy this moment”

Night before the playoff exam for Athena Sassari and Franco Coradduzza, the coach who – since last February 29th – has been at the helm of the rossoblu. On paper just over two months. In fact, a quality time that allowed the coach and team to trust each other.
“My opinion on the route is certainly positive – comments Coradduzza -. I had excellent responses from the girls, with total dedication to my futsal proposal. Unfortunately, this ups and downs of performance in the race, in my opinion largely due to the efforts of the double commitment, influenced the final position, which was achieved anyway (in total sincerity) above all thanks to the excellent work done by those who preceded me”.

Definitive fifth place, due to the overtaking suffered in the direct clash with Virtus Romagna. This is why, for the rossoblu, there will now be Pero, winner of the Final Four in Genoa.
“The defeat against an excellent Virtus certainly left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth, but personally I have never expressed a preference on the next opponent: I have great respect for Jasnagora (a derby is still a derby) and “professionally” I don’t I’m sorry to meet Pero instead. We have already done it during my management, it obviously affected me positively and it stimulates me to be able to face players and technical staff of this level again. I expect a tough race, interpreted by them as usual in a chameleonic manner depending on the moment of the race. It’s an in or out: we will definitely give everything to annoy the winners of the Italian Cup.”

It could be the last match of the season or the springboard towards promotion to Serie A, in the meantime Coradduzza – in his first in the women’s game – is certain to have discovered a sporting universe from which it will be difficult to break away.
“First of all, I take this opportunity to underline the progress made at the Regions Tournament by our Regional Representative team led by Mister Marco Tuveri: I am sure that the excellent work and the semi-final reached by the girls will give prestige to Sardinian women’s futsal. Personally, however. I can call myself lucky with this experience! I was struck by this world, by these girls and by their love for futsal, very close to what I feel… which is absolutely not to be taken for granted given that I define it as an illness. The message I would like to send to my players is just “thank you”. Thank you for welcoming me, thank you for every moment and thank you Athena for giving me this chance. Now let’s enjoy this playoff finish and have fun playing the sport we love.”
