This year there will be 5000 participants in the two scheduled races, the competitive one and the non-competitive race. Important numbers that confirm how this event managed to combine the passion for sport and well-being with the beauty of the magnificent Trieste horizons.

Trieste Spring Run 2024: races and routes
There Trieste Spring Run it is one of the reference sporting events of the entire Peninsula. It is organized byApd Miramar in collaboration with theAsd Trieste Atletica ApsThe Municipality of Trieste with the patronage of Region. In addition to races you can also find the EXPO Villagea fair that unites running enthusiasts And leading companies in the sports sector.
Registrations closed yesterday, May 3, at a cost of 40 euros and included:
- Race bib equipped with disposable timing chip with Gun Time detection;
- Insurance;
- Medical assistance;
- Toilet in the start/finish area and along the route in the refreshment area;
- Refreshments along the route – total closure of the route to vehicular traffic;
- Retired athletes recovery service;
- Refreshment upon arrival;
- Participation medal for arriving athletes;
- Shuttle bus for departure and bag storage.
Trieste Spring Run 2024 races
There will be four races featuring Trieste Spring Run 2024 tomorrow, May 5th. Let’s see them in detail:
- 21K: main race of the event. It’s a half marathon 21 km- the classic marathon is in fact 42,195 km long – on a route that starts from Duino and arrives in Square Unification of Italy passing through the Miramare Castle. A ride with a great view of the Gulf of Trieste;
- 21K Roller: super fun 21K rollerblade race. Also for this race the start is from Duino towards Sistiana and along the Coastal Road. It then takes on the long Trieste seafront until arriving at Unity of Italy Square;
- Bavisela Family Run: non-competitive race. It is a 7 km route to share with family, friends or organized groups and you can walk or run. Children up to 10 years old can also use skates. The beauty of the Family Run is that it is a race open to people of all ages and which aims toinclusion and thesports education. Departure is from Miramare crossroads with arrival in Unity of Italy Square;
- Solidarity relay: the route is the same as the Family Run and each team will be made up of 3 people. It doesn’t matter running or walking, the important thing is to get to the finish line at your own pace. At the end of the race, the three times of each group will be added to establish the ranking. The cost of the solidarity relay is 50 euros of which 15 euros will be donated to Dynamo Camp Charity.

Today’s program, Friday 3 May | Piazza Unità d’Italia
- 5.00pm-6.00pm: Nordic workouts;
- 6.00pm-7.30pm: fitness walking.
Saturday 4 May | Piazza Unità d’Italia
- 9:00-20:00: opening of the race center for registration and collection of materials;
- 8am-5pm: Salone degli Incanti, Sports, Prevention and Wellbeing conference;
- 9:00-10:00: nordic yoga;
- 10:00: Treesport social ride, bike ride upon reservation;
- 10:00-11:00: fitness walking workout;
- 11:00-12:00: functional stretching;
- 3.00pm-3.30pm: Speed Hiking presentation;
- 4.00pm-4.30pm: presentation of the Certified Nordic Walking School;
- 4.00pm – 6.00pm: presentation of the associations supporting the event and space for the promotion of the sports practiced;
- 6.00pm: Top Runner presentation;
- 6.30pm: 3×1 lap mini relay reserved for rookie categories (5/11 years).
Sunday 5 May
- 9:00: departure from Duino of the Trieste 21K Roller;
- 9.30am: departure from Duino of the Trieste 21K;
- 9.45am: departure of the first Solidarity Relay x Dynamo Camp from the Miramare crossroads 3 participants, a single final time with the sum of the 3 times;
- 10:00: departure of the Bavisela Family Run from the Miramare crossroads;
- 12:00 pm: the winners of the 21K, 21K Roller and the Solidarity Relay for Dynamo will be rewarded. The largest groups of the Bavisela Family Run will also be rewarded and other prizes will be assigned by drawing;
- 1:00 pm: autonomous departure from Piazza Unità d’Italia of the Wings for Life charity race with arrival in the pine forest of Barcola.
How to reach the Trieste Spring Run
To reach the Trieste Spring Run 2024 and the various starting points of the races there are different solutions, all usable with i mobility services in the app.
By plane: the nearest airport isTrieste airport. Once landed you can easily reach on foot – in about 10 minutes – the Trieste Airport Intermodal Hubwhose train service is operated by Trenitalia. From here you just need to take the train towards Central Trieste.
On the train: there Trieste Central Station is the closest to Unity of Italy Square, the centerpiece of the event. From the station you can walk to the city center – in 15 minutes – and then take the special shuttles that will take you to the starting areas of the races (Miramare or Duino).
By car: if you want to stay in Trieste to enjoy the highlight of the event you can find numerous rest areas in the blue stripes. If you would like to watch the various races, here’s how to reach the starting points:
- 21K and 21K Roller: the fastest route to watch the start of the two 21 km starts from Unity of Italy Squarecontinues along the Commercial Streetthe E61 and the SP35 towards SP1 to Aurisina. The alternative is to take the Friuli road and then continue on SP1 to Aurisina;
- Family Run and Solidarity Relay: always from Unity of Italy Square continue for via del Teatro Romano And via S. Spiridone. Continue on via Fabio Filzi and take the SS14then proceed towards the Miramare.
