From Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May in Cesena’s places of remembrance, cradle of the Resistance and theater of the horrors of Nazi-fascist repression, Constitution Day will be celebrated, a three-day event proposed to the territory to celebrate the Italian Constitution together with many activities: conferences , exhibitions, shows, trekking, book presentations and tastings. Furthermore, several guests are expected: Gianfranco Pasquino, Orlando Piraccini, Officina dell’Arte di Cesena, Raffaele Barbiero, Carlo Sorgi, Alessandro Celli, Gianfranco Miro Gori, Alessandro Pollio Salimbeni, Vladimiro Flamigni and Anna Ghetti. The program The initiatives will start on Friday 24 May, at 6.00 pm, in the Sozzi room of the Palazzo del Ridotto (piazza Almerici, 12) with the master’s lesson by Gianfranco Pasquino, professor emeritus of Political Science at the University of Bologna, entitled ” The Constitution: yesterday, today and tomorrow”. In the evening, at 9.00 pm, the Oscar Alessandri room will host “L’essential” in concert: Words and Music to celebrate the Constitution. For the occasion, a tasting of Libera Terra, the lands free from mafias, will be offered. On Saturday 25 May the day will always begin at the Palazzo del Ridotto at 11 am with the inauguration of the exhibition “Artistic evidence of the Constitution / Signs and Colors for the Italian Constitution”, curated by Orlando Piraccini and Officina dell’Arte di Cesena. The 33 artists involved will also take part in the morning. The exhibition at Palazzo del Ridotto will remain open on Saturday 25 May from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm, Sunday 26 May, Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 7.30pm. On Sunday 26 May the initiatives will move to Ranchio with, at 08:30, the start of the walk of remembrance and for peace led by the CAI of Cesena. At 10:00 am arrival in Campofiore, where a small refreshment will be offered. Subsequently you will reach Pieve di Rivoschio. Here, in the Park of Resistance and Peace, a meeting will be held on article 11 of the Italian Constitution in the presence of Raffaele Barbiero of the Forlì Peace Center, and Carlo Sorgi, magistrate. At 12.15 pm the inauguration of the exhibition “[R]to exist” with the works of Manuela Campana, “Article 11”, Alessandro Ricchi, “Resistenze”, and Anton Roca “Esistere”. Followed by lunch (reservations required – all information can be found on the Festival poster). Following this, starting from 2.45 pm, there will be the presentation of the volume “The gaze of the other. Fascism and colonialism seen by the attackers of yesterday and today” at the Resistance and Peace park. The curators Gianfranco Miro Gori and Alessandro Pollio Salimbeni will speak. Closing of the Constitution Day at 4pm with Anna Ghetti’s concert and the jazz songs prohibited by the bandamo. A shuttle service will be guaranteed for the return to Ranchio.
