It will be inaugurated Saturday 11 May 2024 at 6pm, to the Bitonto Towerthe photographic exhibition “Geological Landscapes of Puglia”an exhibition with 30 shots by the members of the Photo Digital Puglia Association dedicated to the Apulian geological sites.
The objective is to raise awareness of the geological singularities of Puglia and increase awareness of the need to protect and safeguard the regional geological heritage with its shapes shaped by storm surges, the stones born from the sea, the caves inaccessible to most people, the rocks that speak of the hard work of coexistence and adaptation between man and nature.
The inauguration event, presented by Domenico Belfiore (president of the Photo Digital Puglia Association), you will see, after the greetings brought by Francesco Paolo Ricci (mayor of the municipality of Bitonto), the interventions of Nicola Pice (President of the De Palo Ungaro Foundation) and of Antonello Fiore (National President of Sigea-APS).
“The Photo Digital Puglia association – declares its president Domenico Belfiore – with the exhibition on the geological landscapes of Puglia it intends to stimulate the discovery of the geological wonders of the area, arousing the interest not only of photographers and amateur photographers but of all people interested in discovering the most hidden beauties of the Puglia region with an engaging and detailed photographic itinerary that will transport from Salento to Gargano”.
Antonello Fiore recalls the commitments of Sigea-APS in the promotion of the landscape and geological heritage with the hope “of the growth of awareness of the geological processes that underlie the forms of the landscape and which lead to the need to maintain a balance between physical territory and sustainable human development”.
The shots, already exhibited at the Sannicandro Castle in Bari and in Bari at the headquarters of the Puglia Regional Council, can be appreciated until May 19th every day in the evening (6-9pm) and from Monday to Friday in the morning (9am-9pm). 13). The exhibition will subsequently be exhibited from 14 to 16 June in the Carida – Ramirez Palace of the Municipality of Salve on the occasion of the national conference “Landscapes and geological heritage, cultural heritage and intangible heritage”
