ANCONA The celebrations for the Patron Saint are in full swing and the city is preparing to show off its best anti-chaos plan. Between Ciriachini and DJ sets, today risks being a 24 hour fire for Dorica, in the midst of an astral conjunction that sees San Ciriaco arrive on Saturday. The leitmotif is provided by the Municipality with a note: «Everyone, residents and visitors, is strongly advised not to use private vehicles to get to the centre, except in cases of strong necessity».

The danger of traffic jams

An offer that should not be refused given that the overload of attendance coincides with a city that is half closed to traffic due to the Fair, with hundreds of parking spaces sacrificed to commerce. For the diehards, the covered car parks in the historic center remain open (from 7am to 11pm, Stamira until 1am), from the municipal ones Traiano, Umberto I and Cialdini to the private Stamira. But be careful: there are only 848 places available, on May 1st the red light was turned on in most of the garages as early as 10 in the morning. Better to opt for some alternative solution.

The exchanger

Like the Archi car park, which has 587 parking spaces and the ticket also includes the bus ticket. Otherwise there is the solution of parking in front of the Conero stadium with a free shuttle that stops in Via Vecchini, next to Piazza Cavour. The service will be active from 2.42pm (first run towards the centre) until 10pm (last run towards Del Conero). The route will last approximately 17 minutes, with a 10 minute wait between one ride and another. All direct. Speaking of buses, a special connection is planned for today between Piazza Cavour and the Duomo. The timetable includes trips in the morning from 9.15am to 12.25pm ​​and in the afternoon from 2.30pm to 6.28pm. Local police officers keep watch over the party: 25 officers, 10 morning and 12 afternoon patrols. A general check on market activity will also be carried out. Fans of creative parking are warned: on May 1st, 67 fines were issued for irregular parking, the majority in via Trieste and via San Martino. Let’s get to the appointments. The most important is scheduled for 7pm in Piazza del Papa, an unprecedented location for the delivery of the 85 civic merits. The Fire Brigade of the Ancona Command will go on stage to collect the golden Cirichino, while the silver one will go to the Sicilian pastry chef Salvatore Lo Faro, the sports director Adelchi Tonucci, the president of the Yellow Cross Alberto Caporalini, the trade unionist Benito Osimani , to Professor Francesco Corvaro and to the Filotea pasta factory.
