Communication is now an essential part of our lives and embraces the most diverse spheres of our experiences, including school and the time we dedicate to it.

AtComprehensive Institute Former educational club of Rionero in Vulturedirected by Professor Tania Lacriola, the students find opportunities to communicate and marvel in various ways by intercepting projects, initiatives and events in which they can express their creativity and their joy of living.

In the last few days for example the students of the second and third classes of lower secondary school once again joined the Certamen Fortunatiano event promoted for years by the local institute of higher education entitled toillustrious southerner from Rionero and that this year had as the theme is precisely that of man’s need to communicate across the centuries.

Realizing digital products on the topic, our kids have brought out the concept that we can remain human while using new technologies and drawing on them to communicate responsibly.

The judging commission for the digital section therefore understood this message and has awarded the students of the classes indicated with a notable second and third place.

Likewise music, more than other arts and disciplines, is the one that has the power to dispense emotions to all ages and all latitudes.

And the emotions seem to have no end when the “Sweet Dreams” flute orchestra of the same institute performs, made up of around thirty students from the second and third classes of secondary school masterfully directed and supported by the prof. Donato Santoro, confirmed over time as a true mentor of these surprising budding artists.

For years now the same teacher has accompanied his students by traveling the length and breadth of the country with them and gathering consensus and appreciation everywhere in terms of style, sobriety, measure and ability to dare new and unexplored musical paths for kids of that age.

This year the prodigious young musicians distinguished themselves by participating in the “Young people growing 2024” music competition held last May 9th at the Rossini Theater in the city of Pesaro (this year celebrated as the Italian Capital of Culture), achieving a highly appreciable first prize in the Groups Section reserved for lower secondary school orchestras.

Worthy of underlining is the commitment, professionalism and passion shown by the prof. Santoro in preparing and motivating the kids to compete with other teams at a national level, once again proving to be protagonists of the school to which they belong and also of the civil community of Rionero.

It is a source of pride for this comprehensive institute, founded twelve years ago on the foundations of the historic educational club of the town of Vulture, to be able to show off itself in a sector such as the artistic-musical one which is quite demanding in the scholastic context and to be able to have its say by preparing scrupulously children and young people who, even as adults, will be able to continue to cultivate this passion and, why not, make it become a wonderful reason for living.

We therefore applaud these promising artists and in general the many occasions in which the students of this institute find the way to express themselves without ever losing the desire to experience Amazement and Wonder.
