TRENT. A 44.73% of requests from Italy, followed by Germany (15.31%) and the United States (14.93%). These are the forecasts for the 2024 summer tourist season in Trentino, the result of a predictive analysis carried out by the Observatory of the Hoteliers’ Union (Unat) in collaboration with the tour operator Trentino holidays, and presented in recent days to the provincial tourism councilor Roberto Failoni.
The research – we read in a note – has analyzed 11 million queries received from 12 to 21 April 2024. The most requested destination is confirmed Madonna di Campigliofollowed by Riva del Garda and Val di Fassa (Canazei and Campitello).
The 4, 4S and 5 star hotels together account for almost 60% of the total requests analyzed.
The research shows that the Italian customer asks for a stay of at least seven nights, especially in July and August: over 30% of the requests coming from Italy concern the classic green week, which it attracts neither Germans nor Americanswhich mostly stop for a single night (57.48% and 64.95% respectively).
“A fact that gives food for thought – said Unat president Giovanni Bort – is that there are many requests for April and May: there are potential customers from all over the world who ask for information and would consider staying in Trentino in those months. Unfortunately, in that period many accommodation facilities are closed and therefore all this potential clientele is effectively ignored. The path towards promoting the good seasons also involves a cultural change in the entire system”.
