COMPETITIVE SUP (Stand Up Paddle) – Double SUP route to get to know Padua. Immersed in the historic and picturesque atmosphere of Padua, athletes compete in an intricate system of waterways that surrounds the city, creating a unique experience that blends sport, nature and culture. There are two routes, the complete one lasting 20km. The first departure is scheduled for 9.00 am. Afterwards, for each race category all the other starts will be given with a gap of a few minutes from each other. Departure for the 10km route is scheduled for 11.30am. After a spectacular transfer at the Sant’Agostino bridge (Specola area) we continue along the Riviere, the Piovego and then make a second transfer at Voltabarozzo, enter the long Spiaggiatore canal to reach Bassanello and return to Canottieri.
9:00 am – start of the batteries for the 20km International Canoe and SUP Competition
10:00 am – Departure Padova Water Marathon Amateur
11.30 am – start of the 10km International SUP competitive race
12.30pm – Mini Marathon start for Under 14s
12.40pm – Awards ceremony for the competitive race
3.00 pm – Rescue performance with the dog rescue units that will guard the Fonte alla Canottieri route.
The Padova Water Marathon is included in the calendar of the International Canoe Federation ICF which brings together the world river canoe races. The event is organized by Canottieri Padova with the patronage of the Veneto Region, Province of Padua, Municipality of Padua, CONI Veneto, FICK and ICF Sports Federations In collaboration with the Minister for Sport and Youth, through the Department for Sport , Veneto Region, Padua Chamber of Commerce, Venice Promex, Civil Protection of the Municipality of Padua, Piovego Cooperative, Italian Red Cross (Selvazzano Committee). The initiative is carried out thanks to the support of Acqua Lauretana, Birra Menabrea, Decathlon, Filira Finta Pelle, Led Service, Loacker, MAAP, Ozone Kayak, Komlab.
