The D’Alessandro clan used a fugitive killer, on loan from Vollaro clanto carry out a double murder during the feud against the Omobono-Scarpa. Twenty years after the crime, the first convictions arrive for two former Camorra killers, now both collaborators with justice. They were sentenced to 14 years each Pasquale Rapicano (in the photo alongside) e Ciro Sovereto: the first, former affiliate of the D’Alessandro clan of Castellammare di Stabiathe second former leading member of the Vollaro di Portici.

The double murder of Giuseppe Zincone and Massimo Del Gaudio was committed in via Viviani in Castellammare di Stabia on 18 October 2004. A heinous crime, one of the many revenges during the bloody feud of the Stabiese Camorra, for which in July last year he was also arrested Antonio Ovest, believed to be the trusted killer of the D’Alessandro bosses, who will face the trial separately. He is accused of being the material executor of the crime Ciro Sovereto53 years old from Portici, for years a leading member of the Vollaro clan and a fugitive at the time of the events.

Sovereto was hiding right in Castellammare, with the complicity of the D’Alessandro clan, and in exchange he offered to kill Zincone, alias Peppe ‘a ranocchia, one of the Omobono-Scarpa loyalists, who in that period was escorted by his brother-in-law Del Gaudio , killed just because he was in his company.

Among the organizers of the crime is the other self-confessed criminal Pasquale Rapicano, a 44-year-old from Stabia and former D’Alessandro affiliate who is now repentant, who revealed the Camorra summit that was decisive for sentencing Zincone to death. Among the promoters of that crime was Ovest himself, accused by the Anti-Mafia of having acted as the instigator and of having indicated the predestined victim to Sovereto. The contribution of the Portici killer, a “new” face in the ancient center of Castellammare and therefore unsuspected, was decisive. After having received precise indications, said the repentant killer, Sovereto pretended to look at some intercoms in the street, and then hit the victims, who had arrived on a scooter in Via Viviani, from behind and in the face.
