Campania, weather alert until midnight tomorrow
The Civil Protection of Campania has decided to extend the weather alert in the region until 11.59pm tomorrow, Friday 3 May. The alert notice concerns the entire Campania with the exception of alert zones 4 (Alta Irpinia and Sannio) and 7 (Tanagro). The forecasted thunderstorms could lead to lightning, hail and strong wind gusts, with a rapid and uncertain evolution. In particular, we highlight the hydrogeological risk, with possible flooding, rising river levels, water flowing onto roads, runoff with the transport of material, falling rocks and landslides, especially due to the soil being saturated with water. Damage to temporary structures, public green areas and roofs may occur due to hailstorms and strong gusts of wind. Municipalities are invited to keep the Municipal Operations Centers active, to carefully follow the communications of the Unified Regional Operations Room and to adopt all the necessary measures to prevent, combat and mitigate the expected risks, in accordance with the municipal civil protection plans. It is also important to monitor the state of public green spaces.
