“U’ Puen Nest” and Altamura continues to churn out its daily bread

Three days of meetings, including loaves of bread baked by the hundreds of city bakeries to be enjoyed at the stands set up from tomorrow 3 May in Piazza Duomo, in Altamura. Alongside crumbs of music and slices … of projects that make a lot of money, on the occasion of the Feast of Saint Irene, protector from calamities. And this is understandable even among bakers, given the effects that a spark of fire can cause. The fire is used to cook bread and the entire chain of baked products: from focaccias to biscuits. We will know more tomorrow evening, with the start of the institutional conference, in the Town Hall, on the theme “Pane nostrum: from tradition to innovation. Illuminations turned on for Sant’Irene and on a sector, that of bread-making and the milling chain, which is a large part of the local production system.

On holidays, religious celebrations will alternate with activities, workshops, conferences, exhibitions and much more. It is the Administration’s desire to combine, in these moments, the entire production and craft fabric, opening spaces for collaboration from the smallest to the largest, in what can be considered a real celebration of the City. The entire program is available on the institutional page, at this link.

Finally, we inform you that a Local Police ordinance has been issued with parking and transit bans in the areas affected by the events (historic center) for the days of the event. The ordinance is available on the institutional website.
