Naples, 2 May 2024 – While he he ate spaghetti with octopus, about thirty young people they went to protest against the presence of Roberto Vannacci in Naples, candidate of the League in the European elections. They occurred during the parade clashes with riot police.
The demonstrators, who intended to overcome the barriers and the police cordon protecting the area where Vannacci presents his book, launched balloons filled with water and then hit the officers’ shields with flag poles. The police then responded with the use of truncheons, but there don’t appear to be any injuries. The two sides faced each other in via Nazario Sauro, where Vannacci presented his book ‘World on the contrary’, at the Arte Vesuvio theater on the Naples seafront.

A group of activists lined up in Piazza Plebiscito to demonstrate against him and against the fact that “Vannacci and his supporters are allowed to calmly expose their racist, misogynist, homolesbobitransphobic and ableist ideas”, as stated in a note.
