Fourteen points ahead of second, zero defeats, better attack and better defence, it was a group dominated by Pro Calcio San Giorgio coached by Wladimiro Di Siena who commented on this perfect season as follows: “Among the various groups of our club, perhaps we were among the least expected, we are a team built this year with the fundamental support, both numerical and technical, of the Under 14s. However, a group of boys available and ready to sacrifice, their constant availability allowed us to work well and was the key to success, even though the latter did not fall within the initial expectations”. Constant growth on the part of the whole group, not only from a qualitative point of view: “The boys have grown a lot in their minds, it is an aspect on which I work a lot. In fact, we have very few warnings, the boys have followed me, they don’t protest and they don’t dwell on decisions that can sometimes be wrong or questionable and continue to play with concentration and passion. I’m very satisfied, every coach would like to have kids like that.” Among the data cited above, the best defense in the championship stands out with only 10 goals conceded in 22 games: “Defense has been one of my strong points since last season, I focused on the fact that the boys could already play with the defense with three compared to the usual four-man defenses that are made in the youth teams, I noticed great availability in them from this point of view, even on the part of boys who had never played in that role but who then did so with great dedication”. A championship dominated in this way will certainly have attracted attention to these guys: “I know that someone has important destinations to reach, I don’t know if they will but I wish them to continue this path especially from a mental level and on this path wherever they go. Their attitude has been the key to their success and will serve them well wherever they go.”
