During the week from 7 to 13 April 2024, seven students from the third and fourth classes of the Liceo Classico Pitagora of Crotone, accompanied by Professors Maria Francesca Greco and Cecilia Gugliuzzo, took part in the Erasmus+ student mobility at the 6th Senior High School of Acharnes in Athens.
This experience offered them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the city, visiting historic places such as the Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum. In particular, they were able to admire ancient works of art and landscapes that enriched their cultural background and understanding of Greek history.
The core of this experience was the collaboration with the students and teachers of the host school, who shared their culture and history with great hospitality. Joint activities were organised, including the presentation of multimedia works prepared by the two schools to illustrate their respective historical and cultural realities.
In particular, Liceo Pitagora presented a journalistic report coordinated by Professor Cecilia Gugliuzzo, which involved students in illustrating works of art and landscape beauties of the Crotone area, highlighting its rich Magno-Greek heritage.
The Italian students also participated in ancient Greek lessons held synergistically by the two teachers, experiencing a unique educational and cultural comparison experience.
This Erasmus+ mobility represented not only an opportunity for personal and cultural growth for the students, but also a moment of reflection and comparison between two profoundly different scholastic and cultural realities. The objectives of the project, aimed at promoting active European citizenship and the internationalization of the training offer, have been fully achieved.
