The unions CGIL, CISL, UIL and their supporters in procession: “Our slogan is “zero deaths at work“, and this is our goal“
Legnano – The unions CGIL, CISL, UIL and their supporters met, defying the forecast of heavy rain, in Piazza Monumento in Legnano to march, like every year, in a procession until Piazza San Magno where several speeches were held on the topic of work, healthcare, and the necessary changes to be made at European and national level to protect and relaunch them.
In front of the square, full of banners and flags of the trade unions, the Organizing Secretary of the CISL of Legnano spoke, Luca Paglialongawho also opened and closed the event, the General Secretary of the CGIL Ticino Olona Mario Principethe Secretary of the CISL Milano Metropoli Eros Lanzonithe Territorial Coordinator of UIL Lombardy Luigi Tripodi and the mayor of Legnanese Lorenzo Radice.
“On days like April 25th we reiterated that our cities must not be afraid to use the word anti-fascism, and this should not be forgotten even today – The mayor explained, also referring to the Constitution – Why defend work it means to be anti-fascist: It is through work that we realize our dignity as human beings“.
Work is therefore at the center of the discussion, as was obvious to expect for the demonstration on May 1st, but a job that is safe and as least precarious as possible.”We are faced with a massacre, which must be called what it is: a murder at work! for this reason we reiterate the request for a points-based license for those who do not comply with work regulations – the prince specified, reiterating – We are not here to resist, but we want to indicate the prospect of a new country ”
Lanzoni is of the same opinion and reiterated that “Today’s kids want to work and they want to enjoy the fruits of their labor: and we have to give it to them – also through – A Europe where the economic part must not come before the social part – and which is one of peace and collaboration”
A thought expressed in an even more profound way by Tripodi, who on behalf of everyone asked for the “Stop all wars: let’s stop the weapons and then we will go and see who attacked and who the aggressors are, and who profited from these wars“.
It closed with a moment dedicated to the workers of the Suviana power plant massacre, in the Bologna area, reiterating “Our slogan is “zero deaths at work“, and this is our goal”
The ceremony in the square ended around 12:00, but the party doesn’t end. In fact, not only in Legnano are there Open Manors to visit, but also a concertwhich for rain reasons was moved from the Falcone e Borsellino park to the Tirinnanzi theatre.
