News that brings joy and relief to many people in the Velletri community: the Doblò for disabled people of the Shanky Quad Club “Carlo Antonelli” Onlus association has finally become active again, an essential service for those who have mobility problems or disabilities. This result was made possible thanks to the generosity of the association’s members and the commitment of all citizens, who enthusiastically participated in fundraising in recent years.
The Doblò, a vehicle equipped for the transport of people with disabilities or walking difficulties, was purchased by the Shanky Quad Club association thanks to the collaboration of many volunteers and supporters. The association is named in memory of Carlo Antonelli and is led by Elio Delle Chiaie, with the aim of providing a fundamental service for disabled people and proceeds with year-by-year membership and many social initiatives.
The service began operating in January 2021, but was interrupted last year due to technical and organizational problems. However, in recent days, the Doblò has started working again, with great satisfaction for all members of the association and for the beneficiaries of the service.
Let’s remember that the FIAT “Doblò” owned by the Association, was granted on “free loan for use” (Determination no. 1420 of 20.11.2020) to the Municipality which manages its use, intended for the residents of Velletri (initially from 1/02 to 30.06 .2021 in the city area of Velletri only) and from 01.07.2021 throughout the entire territory of ASL ROMA 6 (made up of 21 Municipalities).
Elio Delle Chiaiepresident of the association, declared: “We would like to remind you that the service is available to all citizens. Once again we thank infinitely all those who supported and believed in this project from the first moment.”
The service, called “Friend Bus”, it is free and dedicated to all disabled people or those with mobility difficulties. The “Friendly Bus” is active from 9:00 to 13:00, upon telephone reservation at least five days in advance. To book, simply contact the number 379 251 3779, active from Monday to Friday.
This news represents an important step towards inclusion and support for people with disabilities in the Velletri area. Thanks to this service, users will be able to once again access safe and reliable transport, helping to improve the quality of life of those facing mobility-related challenges.
The return of the Doblò for disabled people represents a signal of solidarity and civic commitment, demonstrating how collaboration between volunteers, associations and citizens can make a difference in people’s lives.
