extended agreements for specialist assistance and transport

Press release from the Puglia Region

The regional council of Puglia has extended by one year the duration of the availment agreements signed between the Puglia Region, the Metropolitan City of Bari and the Apulian Provinces, for the implementation of interventions in the field of specialist assistance, transport for disabled pupils in upper secondary schools and for other interventions in favor of hearing-impaired and visually-impaired students for the year covering the 2024/2025 school year.

The resolution confirmed the criterion for allocating funds from the autonomous regional budget, to be assigned to the Metropolitan City of Bari and the Apulian Provinces, relating to the 2023/2024 school year. Given the growing number of users and costs, the resources already allocated have been integrated with a further 4,190,217 euros which will finance the aforementioned interventions and will allow the maintenance, also for the 2024/2025 school year, of the same level of services provided in the previous year.

The sums currently allocated and intended to finance the interventions amount to a total of 19,943,909 euros. The objective is to also launch for the year 2024/2025 all the preparatory activities for the regular and timely launch, in upper secondary schools, of services instrumental to scholastic integration aimed at pupils with disabilities of all levels.
