Excitement and great participation at the meeting with the Paralympic champion Giovanni Achenza, held on 24 April 2024 at the “Agioy” Industrial Institute in Sassari. The event, organized by the Parsifal Consortium and the Altri Colori social cooperative, as part of the specialist school assistance service for the second cycle of education of which, since January, they have taken over the management under contract for the Province of Sassari, is the first of a series of conferences on the topic ofInclusion through Sport which will be held at local high schools.
«I am happy to be able to tell my story: sport has offered me a different perspective on life, teaching me to face disappointments, stimulating the energy in me to overcome obstacles, even internal ones, allowing me to achieve more constructive goals». These are the passionate words of the Sardinian athlete with which he addressed the invitation to the young students present in the hall of Angioy to build team relationshipsbecause «you win if you are able to count not on each other, but on each other For the others”.
This event and the next ones which will be held in May and June in other schools, as well as further initiatives including: preparatory activities for tennis, always on the sports-disability but also the practice of pet therapy; the craft and manual skills workshops; orientation interventions; internships and training courses; consultancy from the Agency for Independent Living; school-work alternation experiences and much more constitute the wide range of additional proposals that the Parsifal Consortium has developed according to the principles of inclusion of the regulatory provisions, promptly implemented by the Province of Sassari in the organization of the Service.
These are concrete inclusion paths, designed in continuity from the PEI to the Student Life Project, created in collaboration with bodies and organizations in the provincial territory (Porto Torres Tennis Club, Castelsardo Tennis Club, ASD Tennis Club Ittiri, Woof World, Shared Workshops, ITS Academy, ASPAL, Coop. Funtana), offered free of charge by the Parsifal Consortium to users of the School Specialist Assistance Service in agreement and upon commitment with the Province of Sassari – Education Sector.
