new direct connection from Rome to Riccione with Frecciargento

From June 9th, reaching Riccione from Rome will be easier, more comfortable and faster. Starting next month, Trenitalia will activate the direct connection from Rome to Riccione twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, on board two Frecciargento. The service is part of the “Trenitalia Summer Experience” project which will activate new connections for summer holidays, including the coastal-Romagna route with the Rome-Ravenna direct line and the stop in Riccione.

The Frecciargento will depart from Rome Termini on Saturday morning at 10.05 am and will arrive in Riccione at 2.20 pm while on Sunday the departure time will be at 6.52 am with arrival at 11.17 am. The return from Riccione is scheduled for 5.55pm both on Saturday and Sunday with arrival in Rome at 10pm. The new Rome-Ravenna rail connections are part of the “Trenitalia summer experience” project which will connect the Romagna Riviera with Rome and the main Italian cities for next summer. Overall in Riccione the Trenitalia Arrows will make up to twenty stops in summer, fourteen more than in winter.

The direct connection with Rome expands and enhances sustainable mobility proposals for those who choose to reach Riccione by train. In just four hours of travel, tourists and visitors will be able to comfortably arrive in the heart of the city, a few steps from the sea and the main attractions, both to spend multi-day holidays and to spend even a single day “under the Riccione sun” .

“The new direct connections with Rome expand the tourist offer of our city and, together with the ‘Riccione by train’ project, respond to the idea of sustainable tourism that we share with operators and citizens – observes the Tourism councilor Mattia Guidi -. For our city this is a great result, awaited for years, and we are certain that it will produce great results in terms of tourist influx not only from the capital but from the entire Lazio region and from the Umbria and Marche regions, an already solid basin but from very interesting potential.” The train stops in Terni, Spoleto, Foligno and Fabriano. “Not only that, the connection is also important for international tourism given that it opens the doors to Riccione for a connection with Rome Fiumicino airport”.

The new connections with Rome are added to the proposals offered by the “Riccione by train” project, promoted by Federalberghi Riccione in collaboration with Trenitalia and the Municipality of Riccione, which encourages the use of the train to reach Riccione in complete safety and comfort. The project provides for the reimbursement of train tickets (for minimum stays of 3 to 14 nights), exemption from tourist tax in hotels participating in the initiative and free entry to the major exhibitions at Villa Mussolini. This year the tourism promotion project makes use of the “Travel Blogger Experience” communication campaign in collaboration with a team of travel bloggers and influencers who will talk about their travel experiences on the Trenitalia Frecce to reach Riccione directly from the main Italian cities.

“The direct connections with Rome are the result of years of work and requests aimed at increasing the opportunities for sustainable, comfortable and safe mobility between our city and the capital. In a few hours, and with convenient timetables, tourists and visitors can reach Riccione. This is an important milestone for our city, for the planning of the tourist offer and for its operators” declared the president of Federalberghi Riccione, Bruno Bianchini.
