The Catanzaro preliminary hearing judge acquitted Antonio Glorioso, defended by the lawyer Antonio Lomonaco, of the charge of attempted murder against a street vendor from Catanzaro, reclassifying the crime as injury and sentencing him to 5 months and 10 days in prison.
According to the accusatory hypothesis, last November 2, at the end of a discussion which arose for trivial reasons and due to previous disagreements, Glorioso had taken a knife and then thrown it at the address of another 50-year-old trader, missing him for the first time and the second reaching him at his side.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the man had carried out “suitable acts aimed unequivocally at causing the man’s death, an event which did not occur due to causes beyond his control and in particular due to the people present, who had blocked him and removed him”. For these facts, Glorioso was arrested and placed under house arrest.
Today, during the summary trial requested by the lawyer Lomonaco, the prosecutor invoked a 4-year prison sentence, a request which was supported by the civil party. The judge, having heard all the parties, then reclassified the crime as injury, sentencing Glorioso to the final sentence of 5 months and 10 days in prison.
