Wind power, Todde-Pichetto meeting: “Closest positions”

The positions of the Government and Region on the map of suitable areas are approaching. And Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin “understood” the reasons for the moratorium of 18 months on wind and photovoltaic systems approved by the Todde Council, because «in the absence of rules the Sardinia at the moment is objectively more exposed than other regions».

Word of Alessandra Todde, who this morning met the representative of the Meloni government at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security. They were also present at the summit the councilor for Industry Emanuele Cani, the councilor for the Environment Rosanna Laconi, the heads of cabinet Luca Caschili and Cesare Moriconi.

A “profitable” meeting, as Todde defined it, in which all the issues concerning energy in Sardinia were discussed.

First of all, the map of suitable areas: «We started from distant positions, I must say that following the dialogue the Region and the ministry have become very close. Tomorrow there will be a meeting with the other regions to define a summary which we will then bring to the minister.”

«We presented the reasons for the moratorium to safeguard the landscape and environment of Sardinia and the minister was understanding», added Todde.

“Important” comparison also on overcoming coal-fired power plants and the methanization of the island: «The minister said it available to convene a table that can bring together all the actors in a way that close this chapter as quickly as possible».

Among the topics covered also the relationship between Government and Region and water basins.

«A meeting – concludes Todde – absolutely positive, which lays the foundations for a fruitful collaboration in the future».
