(ANSA) – TRIESTE, MAY 21 – On May 22, two years ago, the Trieste physiotherapist Raffaele Rinaldi, known as Raphael, disappeared in the mountains of Cogne. He was engaged in a solo excursion, waiting to meet his brother Andrea, a journalist and RAI operator, who was passing through the town that very day following the Giro d’Italia. An appointment, set between the two, to which Raphael never showed up. The searches were started immediately, and continued for a long time, both with the rescuers and subsequently organized by the family, but they did not have a positive outcome and Raphael was never found. A well-known physiotherapist, Raphael had followed various English national sports teams for years. He was resident in London and domiciled in Chamonix where he most recently worked. On May 22, 2022 he parked the car in the mountain resort and decided to take a walk, waiting to see his brother again. Following the alarm following the disappearance, search teams immediately swept through the area. A few weeks later, further attempts were made by the family. However, relatives continue to hope that they can at least find Raphael’s body. Andrea Rinaldi announced that the Val d’Aosta Region will plan some exercises in the area where the young man disappeared in the coming months. Reconnaissance will also be carried out with drones, thanks to a friend who will return to the mountains to carry out some overflights with this equipment. In the meantime, in Trieste the family has decided to set up a foundation in memory of Raphael, which will have the aim of helping people in economic difficulty. (HANDLE).
