Today is May 1st, Workers’ Day, and like every year, events on the theme are held in the city and province.

EVENTS IN PIACENZA

Europe will be the driving theme of the events that CGIL, CISL and UIL will organize to celebrate May Day.

In Piacenza we will start at 8.30 with the commemoration of the fallen in via Caduti sul Lavoro, at 9.30 a procession from Piazzale Genova with the Ponchielli band to arrive in Piazza Cavalli where, at 10.30, there will be a meeting on “Thoughts, music and words on Work”.

At the Cooperativa Sant’Antonio, in via Emilia Pavese, traditional “Cuncertass”: at 12.30 pasta, music starts at 3pm.

MAY FIRST IN MONTICELLI
Celebration also in Monticelli: concentration procession in Piazza Matteotti, starting at 10 am and homage to all the fallen and at 11 am in the garden of the town hall rally by the UILPA regional secretary Giorgio Franchini.

NOT JUST EVENTS

CIVIC MUSEUMS

The Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese will be open to the public continuously from 10am to 6pm, offering four guided tours – subject to availability – at the following times: at 10.15am in the Archaeological Section, at 11.30am and 4.15pm in the Art Gallery, at 3pm in the Civic and Carriage collection. The Civic Museum of Natural History will also be open, on the occasion of Labor Day, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 3pm to 6pm.
The Iat-R tourist reception desk (tel. 0523-492001) will be available for information, in Piazza Cavalli 7, from 10am to 4pm.
