Santarelli, “Trentino society must ask itself the reasons for drug dealing”

A rich territory like Trentino Alto Adige is as such at risk of infiltration by organized crime: for this reason the first objective of the prefect Santarelli was to work on the topic, not only regarding the porphyry investigation, with the permanent observatory. The other objective is the development of the neighborhood watch protocol. Over the last three years, the data relating to crimes committed in Trentino and in the main cities of the province have overall been in constant decline, by 1% on an annual basis. On the other hand, the number of malicious injuries and thefts in apartments is growing, a hundred more than the previous year, especially in the larger urban centres. Then there is the drug dealing issue: “Trentino society – said Santarelli – must ask itself about its motives”. Finally, the issue of unaccompanied minors. Immigration requires maximum attention, but whether it is Italians or foreigners, the police intervene in case of security problems. The rest are political decisions and social implications.
