The unemployment rate in Abruzzo falls and female employment rises to 52%, growing by 4.5% compared to 2022 and 5.3% compared to 2021. These are some of the data provided today by the regional councilor for Work and Activities productive, Tiziana Magnacca, in the press conference held together with the President of the Region, Marco Marsilio, to comment on the employment situation.
“What better way to celebrate May 1st than with positive employment data and new resources to be allocated to new job opportunities,” said Magnacca. «The employment indicators are all positive: from the employment rate, which rose in 2023 to 61.3%, generally in line with the national figure and higher than the figure for the previous two years, to the unemployment rate which fell in 2023 to 8.3% compared to that of the previous two years consolidated at 9.6%. The numbers on the work that Abruzzo was able to produce in 2023 give rise to hope for the future, but above all they highlight the fact that a Region is recovering the historical gap with the other regions by realigning itself with the parameters desired by the European Union ».
«Surprising»: this is how the holder of the Labor delegation defined the growth in female employment in Abruzzo. «Being able to reduce the gender gap means meeting Europe’s demands and gaining credibility on the national labor market. Implement the UN 2030 objectives, implement the art. 3 of the Constitution and last but not least increase the regional GDP”.

In the Gol program (Guarantee of worker employability), Abruzzo recorded «an excellent performance, which has put behind it regions that are much better equipped in terms of employment. Above all, the figure of the 40 thousand unemployed profiled by the Employment Centers stands out and above all the percentage of 47.1% of the beneficiaries who had an employment relationship 180 days after being taken over by the Employment Center. The national figure is 41%”.
«In particular – explains a note from the regional department – a notice of path 2 and path 5 of Gol (collective training and relocation), two ESF calls (destined for fragility and reconciling time and family) and a final announcement with Inail funds on health and safety in the workplace, a topic that must never be forgotten”.
