Doctors under investigation for manslaughter
To ascertain the causes of death, the wife and daughter filed a complaint and the Udine Prosecutor’s Office ordered an autopsy, investigating two cardiologists and a doctor from the local emergency room for manslaughter. The autopsycarried out this morning by the medical examiner Antonello Cirnelli, confirmed that death was caused by pulmonary embolism. The further investigations, which will be completed within 90 days, will have to establish whether the pathology could have been identified in the two visits made to the hospital. The suspects’ experts also participated in today’s examination.
