The protagonist will be the bicycle, in all its forms. On Sunday 12 May, from 10am to 10.30pm, the centre, with its heart in Piazza della Loggia and Largo Formentone, will be the scene of Blue on the Bike, Bike Day in Brescia promoted by the Loggia and Brescia Mobilità in collaboration with the associative world. For the occasion it will also be ecological Sundaywith the historic center closed to private vehicle traffic from 9am to 6pm and the possibility of traveling on public transport with a single ticket for the whole day.
The target
Stands, artistic installations, cycling, children’s area, cinema and two-wheeled surprises will make the bike a true leading actress in the city. Federico Manzoni, deputy mayor and councilor for Mobility recalls: «In 2022 we started with the Blue night as part of the Biciplan, the municipal program dedicated to cycling mobility. Given the success of the event we decided to extend it to the whole day.”
The hope, as underlined by Francesca Quiri, Brescia Mobilità Communication Manager, «is make the bicycle an increasingly protagonist in the lives of the people of Brescia».

The program was designed for all needs and ages. That is, passionate cyclists, for those who use the bike occasionally, but also for beginners. In addition to the stands where you can discover the world of two wheels, there will be the Cargo Bike Challenge with cargo bikes, the possibility of carrying out free checks and small repairs (in Piazza Loggia from 10am to 7pm and in Largo Formentone, at the Bike Point, from 10am to 6.30pm). There will be an area for the little ones Children’s bikes in collaboration with Fiab Brescia, readings curated by the urban library system, bike circuits, cycling school, workshops.
They will be there then rides and tourslike the one from Paratico to Brescia thanks to the synergy with the Cogeme Foundation’s Carta della Terra Festival and Terra della Franciacorta. Radio Bresciasette will broadcast live from Piazza della Loggia from 10am to 7pm.
In Piazzetta Bella Italia, from 8.30pm to 10.30pm you can attend the screenings of Ciclo Cinema, a special cinema that works with pedals. Partner of the project is the Brescia Centro Consortium: thanks to the collaboration with the Duc the shops will be dressed up.
