After four and a half years, 120 appearances, 1 goal and a championship won Simon Kjaer he will leave Milan at the end of the season. He talked about it to MilanTV:

We have reached the end of this long adventure, what emotions do you feel?

“Many, positive and negative. For a couple of months I had the feeling that it was right to finish now, and then there will be a new adventure.”

You always said that Milan was a dream…: “I came to Italy when I was 19 years old at Palermo. There I immediately told my agent: “I want to go to Milan”. It took some time, but in the end I came here and this is my company, my place and it will always be like this. When I arrived here, Milan was in a very difficult period that had lasted for many years. Paolo (Maldini, ed.) and Ricky (Massara, ed.) brought me here to give an impact especially to young people, to give continuity and make the group grow. I think I’ve done my job.”

You arrived on tiptoe and in silence, did you expect this impact? “Obviously it always depends on the group, I was lucky, that is, Zlatan also arrived with me. I’ve never needed to yell or give that kind of stimulation. I was able to work on the individuals, showing every day that you had to arrive early to work and that you went home late. Before I arrived here there were 2-3 players training in the gym. Now they are all here. It was also a journey with the coach’s staff. Now there is no one to relax.”
