Friday 3 May could be the decisive day for the future of Gela football. In fact, the second meeting between the two resigning presidents, Maurizio Melfa and Marco Scerra, is scheduled, after the interlocutory meeting last night. There is a season to close, with the financial burdens that concern it, but above all there is to plan for the future.
The group headed by Scerra would be ready to create an ambitious project worthy of the history of the white-blue dolphin: a concept reiterated several times, which yesterday was underlined again by Gela’s sporting director Alessandro Bonaffini, guest of “Stadio Express”. Then there is also the potential interest of new members who would be ready to join the management team.
However, everything would be linked to the planning of an ambitious future, in keeping with Gela’s football tradition. The interest in Canicattì’s Serie D title, up for sale, is currently only a suggestion. The priority today is to understand what to do with this Gela football, starting from the fact that last summer’s “merger” collapsed after a few months and an Eccellenza championship experienced in complete anonymity.
