The young motorcyclist from Reggio Calabria, originally from Bova, died this afternoon. Alessio Legato, involved in the tragic accident on the morning of April 25th on the SS106 Jonica Taranto-Reggio Calabria near Bocale. The boy was just 30 years old and died today at the GOM after four days in intensive care.
The 76-year-old had already died in the accident Gabriella Laganàdriving the car that collided with the motorcyclist.

“Today the entire Bovese community is crying… today we lost everyone… we lost a brother, a friend, a nephew, an acquaintance, a cousin. Unfortunately, fate has chosen Alessio… a fate jeopardized by a cursed road that tirelessly claims victims… Abandoned by a State almost impassive to the misfortunes that occur monthly in our territory… a State that preaches but does not intervene with safe actions even after the hundreds of deaths and to contrast all these tragedies. The death of a boy leaves us in disbelief. The first thought is for him, Alessio for the interruption of his life plan, for his parents for the effort they will have to make to survive, for his brother Danilo, his relatives, and for all of us, who are less close but still participate , because the death of a young person affects the whole community, everyone is touched in affection, in the sense of impotence, in pain as humans capable of empathizing with the pain of others, and pushes us to reflect, to question ourselves, to search for meaning in loss. A life that ends too soon takes away a bit of future and confidence from everyone. Our thoughts with us young people on the Committee go to Alessio, and our biggest hug to his family“.
