L’AQUILA – An unprecedented event with Olympic athletes and more than 43 nations involved and represented in what has become to all intents and purposes the most important international event dedicated to breakdancing in Italy. More than 5 thousand people expected. It’s “Check the style 2024”, the world break dancing championship scheduled in L’Aquila from 23 to 26 May.
The event presented this morning at Palazzo Margherita organized by Jacopo Scotti, sponsored by the municipality and region, it was included in the rich calendar of events of “L’Aquila grows with Sport 2024” by the promoting Committee, by the municipal councilor for Sport Vito Colonna and the president of the Executive CommitteeFrancesco Bizzarri.
The organization of the championships comes after years of success, in which there have been participations at an international level such as those of the last two years, thanks to the twenty-year experience of Scotti, and of the “Zero Gravity” sports club, leader in dance and sports extremes. The event will be located throughout the L’Aquila area. It will start on Thursday 23 May at the Zero Gravity gym with break dance training courses held by world-famous teachers. The next day, Friday 24th, the pre-qualifications will begin at the Madè Disco Club with the first screening of the participants. And also the pre-qualifications of the “Perfect Techniques”, a national Rap Freestyle contest.
On Saturday 25th, the qualifications for the male and female PRO categories and the KIDS categories, dedicated to the little ones, will be held in the Bliss nightclub in Monticchio. The grand finale will be held on Sunday 26 May at the Hemicycle Palace and the Villa Comunale in which the best 16 athletes of all categories will battle until the world winners of the Check the style 2024 circuit are announced. “The B-boys and B-girls from all over the planet will compete in various categories to create a show never seen before in the city,” say the organizers. “This event, now a cornerstone in the world of break dancing and considered among the top three most important in the world. It places L’Aquila at the center of a rapidly developing cultural and sporting reality on the Italian and global scene, so much so that breaking will be among the Olympic disciplines of Paris 2024.
