G7, FAIR AND CONCERTS: VENICE, HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS

The first long weekend with the access fee brought almost 400 thousand euros into the coffers of the Municipality of Venice. It is the result of over 77 thousand daily tourists who from time to time paid the 5 euro ticket because they were not exempt.

Exempt which, incidentally, are the majority, considering all the categories that are not paying for the ticket, starting with residents in Veneto.

The first weekend, however, went away without too many shocks and without any particular surprises compared to the initial forecasts.

Of course, the system needs to be tested and many tourists, especially foreigners, are still not aware of the new rules for entering the historic center of Venice.

Now, however, the days with the ticket will continue until May 5th and after which it will be the opportunity for an initial assessment.

In any case, for Venice, between now and summer, months are expected to be very hot and full of events.

After the historic day which saw the presence of Pope Francis, the G7 on Justice chaired by Minister Nordio will be held in the city on 9 and 10 May, the second Venetian meeting after the one in Verona.

Between the end of May and the beginning of June it will then be the turn of the Boat Show: five days at the Arsenale with the expectation of tens of thousands of visitors over a long weekend which however will not see the concomitance with the contribution of ‘access.

Then, in summer, concerts in Piazza San Marco: Il Volo, Pooh, Umberto Tozzi and Orchestra della Fenice. Everyone on the same stage, which for this reason will remain set up for about twenty days.

In short, it will be a hot summer for Venice, and not only from a meteorological point of view.
