A new worsening of the weather characterizes the transition between the months of April and May, due to a low pressure center that will slide from the North Atlantic towards lower latitudes to reach Italy by Wednesday.
So as usual we start by describing this Monday, which at the end still sees more clouds and some associated rain over the northern regions as far as Tuscany and Marche, while over the other regions the sky appears if not completely clear, then cloudy or milky.
In fact, already today a sustained southern ventilation is transporting sand from the Sahara towards Italy, and in the next few days again often and especially in the central south the sunlight will be diffused and obscured by suspended dust.
The rains, certainly at least those in the first phase, will therefore have that dusty character which then results in the deposit of sand on the ground.
Maximum temperatures today quite high and out of season especially on the extremities of the north-east, the Tyrrhenian regions including the major islands, and Puglia, with local peaks of 28 if not even 29°C.
Even from this point of view the situation will change, continuing with this swing between early heat and late cold, with a view to a general refresh.
The weather Tuesday 30 April
Tomorrow Tuesday 30th, in the morning there will be often cloudy skies from north to south in a context that is still substantially dry, but short-lived for Sardinia and the north-west regions, on which high and stratified clouds will spread already in the late morning, heralding the first rains .

Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, western Lombardy, Liguria, Tuscany, Emilia, Umbria and Sardinia they will be reached by the evening by precipitation, even in the form of downpour or thunderstorm.
In particular, we would like to point out that the National Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow alert for ordinary risk of thunderstorms for the mountain and hill areas of Parma, Piacenza and Bologna.

The weather Wednesday 1 May, Labor Day
Here then, precisely for Labor Day, May 1st, the rains will have reached practically all of Italy, with the exception of the southern extremities only. The highest cumulatives are expected in Valle d’Aosta and the Alpine sector of Piedmont, and will be in the form of snow only at high mountain altitudes, above 2500 meters. They are not excluded hailstorms or thunderstorms, even of strong intensity especially for the central regions.

Temperatures first, significant drop on Sardinia and part of the central north: expected maximums of no more than 20/21°C on Sardinia, Tuscany, Lazio and the north-west. Up to 23°C in the north east and south of Italy, peaks of 25°C still in Puglia.

Trend for the second part of the week: slow improvement from Friday 3 May
The evolution of this disturbance seems to be rather slow, so much so that even on Thursday the 2nd the situation will be very similar to that of the previous day.
Atmosphere highly unstable with locally strong rainfall and thunderstorms for northern and central Italy, including Campaniastill only touching Sicily and the southern extremities.
Temperatures further decreasing in the central north: maximums in the north between 14 and 17°C, in the center no higher than 20°C, up to 22°C in Sardinia and up to 25°C in Puglia and Sicily.
In the south they will begin to drop on Friday 3rd, becoming uniform and therefore largely between 15 and 20°C throughout the entire territory.

These are values also expected for Saturday 4th, while a new increase in temperatures can be glimpsed for Sunday, but given the distance we recommend following the next updates.
In the meantime the weather will slowly tend to recover, On Friday the instability could be less widespread and concentrate on peninsular regions in the center and southit would instead improve in the north with the possibility of some clearing, especially in the north-west.
Finally, on Saturday we will return to dry weather, although the sky will still be often cloudy, except for some residual rain in the Strait of Sicily and the southern Apennines.
