Since 2020 in the Municipality of Cerignola the door-to-door collection system has improved citizens’ recycling habits, reaching a separate collection rate of 70%.
However, there are still residual phenomena of abandonment and incorrect disposal of waste. We can and must do more.
“ELECTRIZED FOR THE FUTURE” is the information and awareness campaign that aims to promote the micro collection of WEEE waste in the Municipality of Cerignola.
The project, in collaboration with the WEEE Coordination Centre, involves a series of installations of collection points at the city’s municipal schools, and beyond, to direct young people towards greater awareness of the micro collection of waste electronic equipment from the group R2-R3-R4, such as tablets, cell phones, calculators.
All the details of the initiative, including the objectives, implementation phases and planned awareness-raising strategies, will be presented to students and the press on 3 May at 12.30 at the “Padre Pio” secondary school at the presence of the Mayor Francesco Bonito, the Councilor for the Environment and Public Works Michele Lasalvia, and the President of the Environment Commission, Councilor Luciano Giannotti.
We will also discuss the importance of correct management of WEEE waste and the crucial role of public institutions and the community in promoting sustainable practices.
