Italy World Games, a success for the Latina tournament

The Italy World Games International Youth Football Tournament, organized by the former Referee Claudio Gavillucci in collaboration with the Paris World Game sports and cultural association and the SA.MA.GOR Sports Society of Latina, concluded its second edition with great success in Italy. The event took place from 25 to 28 April 2024 in the cities of Latina, Sabaudia and Anzio, with the involvement of professional teams and football academies from 7 different nations and 3 continents.

The tournament, aimed at promoting social, cultural and educational aggregation through sport, saw the participation of teams from France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Cameroon, Serbia and Italy. The Italian teams present represented the Pontine territory, helping to promote the Italian football tradition and culture.

The categories involved in the tournament included Under 10, Under 13 and Under 15, all carried out according to FIGC regulations and sponsored by CONI, Opes, as well as the province and municipality of Latina.

The 60 matches held over the weekend were hosted at the SA.MA.GOR Sports Center in Latina, the Borgo Podgora Sports Center in Latina and the Borgo Santa Maria Sports Center in Latina.

The opening ceremony of the tournament, held on Friday 26 April at the Samagor in Latina, was a moment of great celebration and entertainment, with the performance of the freestyle world champion, Anastasia Bagaglini.
