This is stated by Arpa data on the basis of which the president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, signed a decree in which he identifies and classifies the beaches in Lazio where you can swim in the upcoming 2024 bathing season.

According to the regional environmental protection agency, the best sea is that of Ostia. Followed by Ladispoli, Cerveteri and Civitavecchia. All places that in the imagination have certainly never represented the idea of crystal clear waters. But on the other hand this passes the maritime convent of Lazio, where, moving further south, the coasts of Nettuno, Latina, Sabaudia, San Felice Circeo, Fondi, Sperlonga, Itri, Gaeta, Formia and Minturno shine. Finally, ARPA defines the waters of the Pontine islands as excellent. Moving on to the beaches closest to us, Montalto di Castro fell this year from the group of excellence, in particular in the area near the Arrone ditch, while in Tarquinia the quality of the sea near the Tuscia Tirrenica campsite is poor for the fifth consecutive year. Bathing has been prohibited in both municipalities, respectively from the Marchese Guglielmi estate to the mouth of the Fiora, and in the area to the right of the Marta river, for a radius of 400 metres. The rest of the Tyrrhenian coast is clean.

Lake Vico has been in the sights of environmentalists for years
On the lake front, the one in Vico stands out, as mentioned, for years in the sights of environmentalists for pollution due to the abuse of pesticides in the surrounding hazelnut groves. It is enough just to remember the legal action promoted by the organizations Client Earth and Lipu, who saw their appeal accepted by the Council of State, according to which the Lazio Region must take action to protect the health of citizens living in the Municipalities of Ronciglione and Caprarola and who have no longer had access to drinking water for years. After Vico we find Bracciano, Martignano, Nemi, San Puoto, Lungo, Turano, Salto, Ventina and Scandarello. The quality of the waters of Lake Bolsena also improves. Here only two areas fail to achieve excellence, classified only as good. This is the area near the Cavallaccia ditch, in the municipality of Bolsena, and those near the Ponticello ditch, in the municipality of San Lorenzo Nuovo.
