These are the final skirmishes of the Serie B regular season and, while waiting for the play-offs which will decide the teams promoted to Serie A, there are glimmers of opportunities for results that go beyond the ordinary administration line. At the top of the ranking, as is also known with the benefit of mathematics, Domotek Volley Reggio Calabria which for the first time (it had not yet happened in a championship dominated by 3-0, except for the 3-1, two weeks ago , at the home of Datterino Letojanni) faced the tie-break.
The amaranth team returned from Bronte, Aquila side, with two points instead of the usual three, a happy outcome of the 2-3 which served to break the resistance put up by the home team. Having arithmetically secured first place, Mister Polimeni’s team will be followed, after the games are over, by Ciclope Volley Bronte, who has extended into a second position now definitively occupied to the detriment of Paomar Volley Solarino. Both have only one challenge left to face before the break that will join them on the last day. The team coached by Martinengo encountered no obstacles in the trip to Vibo Valentia where Tonno Callipo was easily broken by a round 3-0 in a match that enjoyed a glimmer of balance only in the third set. On the other hand, Paomar Volley Solarino had to throw hectoliters of sweat onto the field to only get the upper hand in the fifth set (3-2) of an indomitable Bisignano Group which, with the little point won at the “Triolo” Tensostatic, is now at a whisker away from staying in the cadet category. Costa Dolci Papiro Fiumefreddo paid the price and also fulfilled all that was required, winning the entire stake (3-0) in the match with Re Borbone Palermo, calmly in seventh position. The news of the weekend in Group I of Serie B was delivered by Viagrande: it is, in fact, at the PalaTomarchio, home of Systemia, that Sicily F.lli Anastasi Villafranca earned their first deserved success in the championship, 1-3, and for the boys from Santacaterina the satisfaction of having deleted the zero from the section dedicated to victories.
