The 1-0 success in Breda against Pro Patria was not enough for Pro Sesto. The Biancocelesti did their duty, but after 4 years among the professionals they were directly relegated to Serie D, without going through the playouts.
The fate of Pro Sesto was sealed by the victory of Pergolettese at Giana (1-0) and the simultaneous draw by Arzignano (1-1) against Atalanta U23. A picture, at the end of the championship, which brought the Sesto San Giovanni team to within 9 points of Azrignano, one more than the 8 that would have been needed to play for the survival play-off. It therefore leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth for Pro Sesto, in a championship that started badly and ended with a mockery (Pergolettese’s decisive goal arrived 10 minutes from the end), with many faults and little merit.
Among these, however, applause must certainly be given to the management of Mr. Angellotti, the third coach to sit on the bench in this haunted 2023/2024 and to completely revive the entire environment, playing every chance of salvation until the last minute of the last match . In fact, with him at the helm, Pro Sesto maintained a playoff average. Perhaps the right man to start again among the amateurs is already around Breda.
